April has been an exciting month for CKL Engineers, marked by continued networking, community investment, and insightful content. Here are our highlights of April 2025:
Did You Know?

Last month, we kicked off our new Did You Know series on our Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter accounts (and yes, it's still Twitter to us)! So far, we've used this series to share both historical and obscure engineering and transportation facts from across the world, from the origins of concrete, and why you shouldn't always trust ChatGPT, to cancelled expressway projects in Chicagoland and more. This series will remain a weekly staple, giving you something interesting to learn every Friday!
Skyway Bowl Donation

At CKL Engineers, we believe in supporting our community and preserving its landmarks. When we learned that Skyway Bowl, Chicago's last Black-owned bowling alley, was facing potential closure, we felt compelled to act. To aid in their efforts to remain open, CKL Engineers has donated over $4,000 to Skyway Bowl's fundraising campaign, Operation Save Our Lanes. The money went toward refreshing their entire stock of bowling shoes.
CMAA Chicago Luncheon

CKL attended CMAA Chicago's April Luncheon with Craig Turner, the Chicago Department of Transportation's First Deputy Commissioner. He showcased multiple projects, both ongoing and in the procurement phase, that will shape Chicago's transportation future.
That's it for now. Monthly roundups will be posted on the first Tuesday of every month, so be sure to stay tuned!
