CKL is providing Phase I Engineering services for the reconstruction of the University Park Metra station, the southern terminus of the Metra Electric Main Line. Located in Will County, Illinois, it is the second furthest south Metra station in the Chicagoland area and attracts many riders from the surrounding area and areas further south.

CKL is providing project management support for ongoing projects that are part of the Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency (CREATE) Program, a Chicagoland-wide initiative to improve the efficency of passenger and freight rail service by building new rail infrastructure or reworking existing infrastructure. When fully realized, the CREATE Program will have greatly reduced switching and scheduling conflicts between passenger and freight railways, provided more service capacity to several Metra, Amtrak, and freight lines, improved road traffic and safety via grade separation projects that replace grade level rail crossings with safer overpasses and underpasses, and set the groundwork for future high-speed rail projects.
